The first W300C wheel loader sold in Spain was delivered in October to mining company Arcigrés, S.L., in Valencia. Featuring New Holland’s Tier 4 interim AdBlue® technology, the W300C was chosen by the customer for its advanced performance, exceptional fuel efficiency, low emissions, and high productivity with the fast cycles and 10 ton bucket load capacity.
Mining company Arcigrés, a family business with over 30 years experience in the extraction of gravel, sand and china clay, purchased the W300C as part of its fleet renewal programme. At a time when the Spanish mining industry is in great difficulty, the company is investing in updating its fleet to ensure it has the high productivity equipment it needs to run its operation efficiently. Ximo Magalló, General Manager of their dealership, commented: “Arcigrés has had the foresight to act quickly and to invest in new equipment, and as a result they have not only maintained, but improved their position in the market.”
A powerful performance for extraction operations
A loyal customer since the Seventies, Arcigrés once again turned to New Holland Construction to update its fleet with a new wheel loader. They opted for the W300C for its powerful performance, required for the china clay extraction applications it will be used for. It will be working in a quarry with a daily production of around 7,000 m3, where about 2,000 tons are loaded every day. The high capacity bucket, capable of carrying up to 10 tons of china clay, drives up the W300C’s productivity. Jorge Gabarda Cortés of Arcigrés is delighted with its performance: “It’s wonderful: we load up a truck with just 3 buckets-full of clay!”
Impressive fuel savings of 7 litres/hour
Arcigrés is also looking forward to impressive fuel savings with their new W300C. New Holland’s Tier 4 interim AdBlue® technology delivers exceptional fuel efficiency. The new W300C uses 70 litres less fuel a day than the W270 wheel loader it replaces. “Considering 10 hours work a day, 5 days a week, we will save 16,800 litres of fuel; at a price around 1,19 €/litre, we can save as much as 20,000 € in the next 12 months,” pointed out Jorge Gabarda.
An excellent choice all round
Jorge Gabarda summed up the benefits the new W300C: “the advanced cooling system that makes it so easy to clean the radiators, the powerful performance, the great fuel savings, the operator comfort and the high capacity bucket that speeds up the loading cycle.”
He also commended the excellent support they receive from their dealer. Ximo Magalló Jr, the dealers’ Service Manager commented: “Nowadays we have to look beyond the sale of a machine and guarantee a full service. Technical support is a key activity in our business. Arcigrés made their final choice of the model during a visit to New Holland’s Lecce plant in Italy, where they were able to test W300C and W270C prototypes. Jorge Gabarda Cortés of Arcigrés was very pleased with the visit: “We appreciated the visit very much. We were very impressed with the machines we tested and seeing the manufacturing processes up close gives you great confidence in the product.”
